Re: LMBHA AGM & GM pre meeting meal

Actually they started it on Wednesday when I was down there. A load of road stone was put down soon after I arrived, and was spread around the area of your boat Ian.
Unfortunatelly when this pile of stone was pread out and flattened everything stopped and no more was put down in the afternoon, at leased the worsed bit around the entrance gates.
I'm a little concerned that you both say it has not been finished yet as it should have been finished on Wednesday surely. What I don't understand is that I raised the issue at the AGM and my boat is still surrounded by mud well it was on Wednesday.

Hanble Point Marina has a good secure boat park with power and water, but you are given a key and launch the boat yourself. I'm not sure how my new car would handle launching a boat and trailer as heavy as mine. However the slipway is straight out into Southampton Water only about ten minutes away from Cowes.

Robbie, Ive never seen an overloaded caravaner stuck on a ferry ramp yet. so with that in mind perhaps go and check out the angle of the slip way?

Sounds an intersting option so I wont be long behind you.

Steve

Re: LMBHA AGM & GM pre meeting meal

I've traided in the people carrier for an Astra.
The official tow limits do cover my rig as a breaked trailer. Trouble is I took the breaks out years ago. Not a lot of call for breaks on the long 50ft trip out of the boat park to the sipway.
The trip out of the boat park in Hamble Point is not a great deal more but its my car reversing towards the water not someone elses tractor, its been a long time since I've launched my own boat.

Re: LMBHA AGM & GM pre meeting meal

As I have let all 3 of my caravans out for the whole season I was looking at other sites and have found 1 near Mercury Marina.

Not far from Southampton Drystack. Will be off to have a look in the next couple of weeks.

Robbie,
I get the feeling you are getting itchy feet for more voyages around the Solent and further South

My boat is still surounded by mud and puddles too Robbie, On Saturday it looked like it was only the main driving areas that had been done, I hope they finish off the job though
