Robbie,

Tell me about it ......... Purley Way, 11 am this morning ................. 3 foot of water.

I have a tide mark on the bonnet of my car to prove it !!!!!!

But the good old Mondeo never let me down and i got a better wake up than you would with a Fletcher !!!!!

At 11-00am I was driving out of Redhill, and the water was comming up the bonnet to the windscreen as the wash from cars comming the other way hit.
It just seemed surreal as last weekend it was just the same leaving LM harbour.
One poor woman in an Escort broke down at the deepest part and I couldn't believe it when she opened the door and the water rushed in, then the bow wave of the car infront of me hit her broard sides as she was getting out.
Its such a large flooded area I might take the radio controlled boats down later!!!

Re: 21st / 22nd July

Well by 12 yesterday parts of the site were under 3 feet of water

took me 1.5 hours to get home yesterday, usually only takes 30 mins,

But the Clio pushed its way through some deep puddles and like Robbie and Nick I now have a tide mark halfway up the car.

At one stage the water was coming up over the bonnet and was like being out in Andre's rib going through the waves.

Think i will not even try and get to LH today as reports are that most of the roads are still shut.

Plus weather looks brighter for tomorrow

Re: 21st / 22nd July

Well myself and Nick went out in Scooby Doooo but decided it was too rough so went for a sedate cruise up river. NEVER going above 6.5Knots

Then in the harbour waiting for the Trailer Nick tried his walking on water act again. Only this time he was fully clothed with Phone in pocket.

As Nick jumped off scooby doo i put it in reverse and the gap got bigger........................

Shame did not have a camera............Nick missed the pontoon and got wet

Honest was not done on purpose!!!!!!!!!!

Re: 21st / 22nd July

Well Ian, Sunday turned out to be the better day of the two .......... mainly because I not fall in !!!!

The sea was rough but it mellow right down toward the evening ............... and even Robbie came down " to poke a stick up his hole " ........ his words not mine so i think it is best if he explains that one !!!!!!

Re: 21st / 22nd July

I was actually poking the stick up Ed's hole.

Let me explain..........Just shut up and listen............I was cleaning the bilge out on Salamis with Ed ready to fit a new bilge pump. the crud blocked the drain hole so I needed to tell Edward the stick was on its way up the hole so he could get ready to chuck some more water into the engine bay. Unfortunately not only Ed heard the warning. Nick was kind enough to throw a hose over the fence with a water jet attachment fitted. This made the job a lot easier. Trouble now was following my first jet of water up the hole I soaked an unsusspecting Ed full in the face as he was leaning into the bay. This required a new warning " Ed I'm flushing the hole now are you ready for it".

As the float switch is working OK I will replace the pump only in the engine bay. However there is a seperate bilge midships where the fuel tank is. This has always tended to collect rain water, where from I have never worked out. I have always had to manually pump this out so I've bought an additional bilge pump with integral electronic float switch which is going in here.
