Video to DVD

Not really a boating thing, but last year our video finally died and apart from a 'spare' player up in the boys room we had no way of recording so we invested in a DVD recorder but the problem is I still have some favorate videos I'm unable to see (some are boat videos).
I decided to work out how this video to DVD thing works, so I brought the spare video player downstairs and plugged in in to the DVD recorder using a scart lead. Making sure each is looking at the correct scart port, one plays as the other records and I was able to take the recorded DVD and play it on my PC plus copy it on to a USB zip drive. A one hour video worked out to be 600Mb so on a 4.7Gb DVD I should be able to put about 4 or 5 feature films, but I'm still experimenting.
Its quite basic stuff but I feel quite pleased with myself getting it sorted out.

Re: Video to DVD

Robbi, take a look at DVDFAB, converts all formats to all other formats.

Rips out region codes, adverts, warnings etc. too.
I'll never be a millionaire... and a boat owner.
