Yes you are spot on there and ultimately the sea state will always dictate how much throttle we can use and even if I wanted to open the throttle when getting out to a mark, the sea state is usually such that I can't do more than about 15 knots without slamming the boat to bits and even if the boat can take it I certainly can't.

I guess it's a bit different if your boat was designed purely for speed, as you would only take her out when the sea state was fairly calm, but we fisherman will go out even when the sea isn't smooth, it just takes a while to get out there.

As you're not dealing in huge torque numbers, 3 blades show an immediate increase.

Steve that would be brilliant. I want to take the boat back to Marinautic to todo the testing. Should be sometime late April. How would you like me to contact you.

Thanks for the info Steve but my concentration levels wont extend that far.
I would rather go for the trial and error basis, besides it should be more fun.
