Re: Steve's Blow up thing

Cleaver props give stern lift , rather than bow lift, this might help a bit.

Could get a floating mooring at LA, would resolve the trailer / launching issue

Re: Steve's Blow up thing

Thanks for the more useful ideas Graham.

I think the attitude will be better when the weight is better distributed.

Trailer will get reworked to resolve launching.

Thumbs up Re: Steve's Blow up thing

Things seemed to go backwards last weekend but I got down to the Blunderbolt last night,

Turned out the Overheating was simply down to the hose pipe and local pressure.

Battery is now relocated.

So I should be able to give it a run with the family this Sunday and see if it nose dives!

New Plastic Fuel Tank on Order.

Thumbs up Re: Steve's Blow up thing

The 1st pic is of the plastic tank as bought. Horrid mass of pipes in middle.

2nd picture, as installed.

What we did to To convert tank:-

Blanked off original through plate with O ring seal.

Turned tank upside down and fed in new filler and Mercury outlet fixing from flat surfaces in corners.

Filled half full with fuel left out in the sun, didnt leak. Thank God!

Fibre glassed Stainless ratchet Straps onto Floor.

Pulled up ratchet straps tight and shook tank by handles. Whole boat jumped up and down so figured that would do-ski.

Cushion being made for Top of Tank.

Thing is becoming useable now.

Re: Steve's Blow up thing

Battery is under the Steering console. Not much point of taking pictures of something you cant see though.

I tool about four inches out of the height of that thing too.

Re: Steve's Blow up thing

Rigging looks very neat. Weather there looked misty today !!Like the tank mat, a perfect fit.Just need to get that hold of a three bladed, small hubbed cleaver prop... about 24/25 inch pitch and you will be away. Adrian.... must ask around in Southampton area too....

Re: Steve's Blow up thing

Crap camera in phone.

Forgot to take decent camera.

Rubber mat was two , 99p each from Tesco's.

24" small hub would be interesting to try.

Talking Re: Steve's Blow up thing

At last a proper shakedown! Got through 18-20 gals of make-me-happy juice.

Itchenor-pompey-cowes (folley Beers) yarmouth, chi marina (Beers) -itchenor.

Boat perfomed faultlessly. Cruises at 40mph.

Hi Five prop was excellent for wake jumping.

Sat in seat staring at sky for an eternity after jumping 50 footers wake at 45mph. BAAAAD!

Re: Steve's Blow up thing

Nothing quite like messing about in boats for loads of fun and grin factor!

A day on the Solent chasing waves, Isle of Wight for lunch. What more could you ask of a boat.

Re: Steve's Blow up thing

Glad you are enjoying it billy no boat missing not having a boat for the first time in his life since 22 yrs old . . . . . . hate it, hopefully sometime soon

If I had a large enough cheque book, I'd quite like that new Parker 12m with 4x300hp Verado that Andre/Parker have just delivered

Hi Richard.

Yep I / we are enjoying it, thanks.

Sorry to hear of your lack of a boat .I wouldn't like that either.

Seriously;there's always room for one or two more with us.

Had that and since sold it about 6 months ago now, was totally wicked, unbelievably powerfull, and fantastic hull especially for a Jet Ski, was quite comfortable and still quick in a relative chop. Had 52 knots on the GPS on it and still more to go but my sensible head got the better of me. It is the first ski I have ever been on where you really physically have to hold on when accelerating as it will throw you clear off the back anyway it had the factor
