Re: 4th/5th Aug

We had a 'stonkin' time today. Out to the tower quick cupper then off to find Bognor's pier, as the Birdmand rally is on 1st & 2nd September it would be good if we could get some boats moored of the pier for this International competion.
lots of small RIBs and jet bikes were being launched off the beach so even Steve and Richard could have a run out in their fruit salads.

Re: 4th/5th Aug

Managed to get out Saturday,
Like you Robbie I went out to the weather station and then down to Bognor.

It was a case of playing miss the lobster pot float, I am sure there is more this year

I have watched the bird man event once from the water its a good day,

So are we going to organise a pontoontalk boat trip then Robbie

Re: 4th/5th Aug

Spent Saturday working on the boat, now have a full compliment of grab handles, and a way of keeping engine hatch closed too!

Went across to Cowes yesterday for lunch and headed for East Cowes to avoid the congested marinas in East Cowes. Had an interesting crossing from Calshot to Cowes as the sea was quite lumpy due to the wind, which in turn was enabling a fleet of large multihull sailing catamarans reach some impressive speeds. Keeping out of their way was at times tricky as they tacked right on top of you... buts its OK they are sailing boats and they do own the Solent after all

Re: 4th/5th Aug

What with Sailing boats and Lobster pots using the sea is becoming as bad as driving on the road and avoiding the speed camera's.

Infact now they are going to breath test boaters it will be the same

As yet I have not heard or read anywhere the reasons they will need to pull you over and breath test you.

If you fail what are the penalities???
Point on your boating licence
Will they be bringing out a driving test for boats

Re: 4th/5th Aug

What with boatbuilding, dodging sailing boats, and the lobsterpot minefield spotting competion we seem to be more up and running than most years. It would be great if we could meet up on the water and see the nutcases chuck themselves of Bognor pier.

If any of the wives would like to join us I have seen this ingenious device on the web:

http://shop.packyourbags.com/acatalog/Shewee.html

Now our ladies can join in the standing up and peeing over the side extravaganzer. Well they always say they wished they could. Now they can. ( don't understand Marys reserve at the prospect !!)

Re: 4th/5th Aug

What a find! Bit dubious about using it on a moving boat with a lot of men around but if I was really, and I mean REALLY desperate might give it a go. Don't be mean though wee'd have to have one each.
