Re: Garage boating

Looks to be all going to plan?

Do you think you are through the worst part now?

I think the worst part is going to be the electrics. Its all well and good boat engines having wiring loom plugs to make engine changes easier, but when you rebuild then the loom still has to come off.
Hopefully it won't be as bad as it looks though.

Re: Garage boating

It took me an afternoon to clean then paint the bilge. As for the engine I'm still awaiting on new bits or old bits being renewed. However it is still all comming together and all the bits are getting done.

Building the jig to take the engine for the bell housing to go back on with, and help with transporting back to boat.

Re: Garage boating

A iron clamp I found in the garage when we bought the place is used only for weighing stuff down while the glue sets.

Thumbs up Re: Garage boating

Iron Clamp; my eyes picked that up before I read the text.

An old Volvo dash panel and you could run you're engine up on there is that the plan?

Re: Garage boating

Good day yesterday. Used the host to lower engine on to pallet using old engine mounts, and fit flywheel and vibration plate. Then bell housing and starter motor with a bell housing bracket to support rear of engine.

Looking good still Robbie,

But what we all want to know is when are you planning on having it back in and your first sea trials?
