Got old top off.

Heres the new hood like the yellow one in the pic. Some frame parts still to find hence the draw-tape attached to the mirror!

Re: Pipe dream number 1,001

Well Ian, Matt's not here right now. He's at a band night with a bunch of mates.
The boat project has come to a bit of a holt recently as it is outside in the front garden, and we can't paint or fibre glass in these temperatures.
I'm going down to LM tomorrow actually with the boys. I'm panning to take the floor out of Salamis to repair a hatchway support.

Steve I was driving through Merstham yesterday and saw one of those 101's or 1001's what ever they are in the petrol station. It was the same military green colour yours is. I assume with a big petrol lump in them they spend a lot of time in service stations.

Re: Pipe dream number 1,001

The 101 yes I have been a bit quiet on that front I suppose.

I have been buying the roofing poles and bit 'n bobs from ebay to get the soft top fixed on properly. I joined the owners clud, a really active bunch for such a small production run of vehiucles (2668). They have manufactured, all of the parts you cant buy readliy, and they are reasonably priced.

I changed out the headlights for 100w /80w and quadoptic lenses. I have ripped out all of the on standard wiring to get back to basics. Also, Jet washed her inside and out! put a big vinyl foor matt in the back for the kids and slapped some paint on the inside to see what it would look like. In Donzi Red of course. So its now a practical family estate that is going out today to get the Xmas tree and the bathroom lino in the same trip.

The 101 hit the road and the green lane for the first time properly yesterday.
I met Graham for lunch locally and we trundled of in her to leith hill and went off into the hills up this green lane.

The 101 is really very big in compairison to a 110 Land rover dimensions wise.
It the wheels are 34" tall so it trundles over and through things very lazily. The down side to this is though is that the green lane we were on was a bit of a squeeze.

Probably have to back off this one for a bit and concentrate on stripping the Donzi motors down and getting those heads on.

The Carbs turned up last month so I have all the parts and no excuses!

Yes it looks more like a Green 'motorway' now, rather than a green lane... or was that just us doing our bit to keep the undergrowth trimmed neatly back

Anyway had a good time, and the 101 went really well, never missing a beat, and its new canvas roof came through unscathed.

Dunno about doin tooo much off that motorway maintenance stuff.

Despite the slow trampling of Surrey, the underside is caked in mud again.
Last time I jet washed it off I had to clean up the mud in the road.

To get to the point of posting. I have the comressor en-route for the Air brakes to use on a trailer. Once the mud is off the underside (again) I can have a look at fitting it and a reservoir. I fnothing else I can always use it for blowing up the towables.

4,000,000,000,000 hours later stripping seven layers of emulsion and two layers of landrover paint. Literally, 3 Gallons of Nitromoors.

So that just leaves the boat to do then.

am sure it would be noticed if someone tried to move the Donzi. I mean its not exactly small and not many like it if at all in this country

Re: Pipe dream number 1,001

The Disk cutter or the Key one of them will take it off.

Last of the fuse board parts arrived today, so I might get the 101 MOT'd tomorow and then I can start on the boat.

Unless I have to go back to work.
