So perhaps get your boat next to robbies and have the shore power thing straight out of that shed.
I called David today and the answer was no . No power allowed into boat park so no to tube heaters

Anyway my purchases and Steve's advice was spot on. Managed to go down this afternoon and the diesel rib is now winterized. I run the engine with the boat on the slip and engine leg only in the water until the temp was up . Next I flushed the engine with fresh water and then flushed it with anti freeze from a container fixed to the A frame. It worked so next time will do this immediately after recovery. Now for sure will be ribbing long into the winter season

Robbie sorry to have hijacked your thread with this subject but made no sense starting another unless Steve wants to tidy it up

Re: Robs boat Salamis

I've decided to reupholster the tired looking cabin bunks, but can't decide wether to use a material or vinyl to complete the job. I found a company near Wallington that sell almost every type of covering and in any colour.

A couple of the base boards were sowing signs of rot so I'm taking the opportunity of making new.

Re: Robs boat Salamis

Obviously not what you lot are thinking!!

I'm far too old for one of the reasons, and havn't lost that amount of control for the other reason.

In fact it is still the old foam but new under-boards and covered in new fabric. The pics above show two cusions still with the old fabric on, the new fabric isn't that much different just not torn on the corners and looking their age.

Just finnished the funny shape middle one this evening. So only the big pointy one left to do now.

Re: Robs boat Salamis

Carl and I are on a course this week. It ends lunchtime tomorrow. Would normally be expected to go back to work in the afternoon.

Dead calm you say, hot and sunny to, um,um.

Sod it to much work and no play makes Robbie a dull boy.

Re: Robs boat Salamis

Just finished the big pointy one now.
All done and dusted now, will take them down next week with Matt. You will know if they are OK if I post a picture.

Re: Robs boat Salamis

We took the reupholstered bench cusions down today and I have to say I'm really pleased with the result.

Went down to the beach cafe to see what I was missing, as outdrive is still in bits after my contretemps with the damn bar last week.

Re: Robs boat Salamis

Cushions look most impressive Robbie, even more satisfying as you completed the work yourself. What is the damage to the outdrive ?

Re: Robs boat Salamis

Bit of a late night tonight, just helped a mate out by towing his car home. Got in to find Mary asleep on the sofer and the boys in bed but they've left the computer on (again).

None of you have spotted that I took these pics with my new suppery doopery camera and the two last shots were from the same place . But the second to last picture shows a small smudge between the second and third navigation marker just on the horizon.
This smudge is the sailing boat on the last picture once I zoomed in on it. Can you see the seagull perched on the first marker?

I'm getting up at 6-00am to go to work-----goodnight.

Monday 16th

I'm off down the boat tomorrow.
Planning to take the 'orible brown carpet out of the cabin and replace it with some nice bright grey stuff.
The usual place I have bought it from has closed their shop, Its a VW campervan conversion place in Godstone. But they put me on to another van conversion place in Lingfield near the racecourse and they import Mazda Bongos from Japan a 4X4 2.5Ltr turbo diesel wagon with electric raised roof.
They look quite good actually and being knocked out at around 6 to 7 grand, if you can live with telling everyone you drive a 'Bongo' that is.
