Re: London Boat Show 2007

Well I went with Mary and Ed and had a good day. This is the first time we drove there (put details in new GPS and let her sort it out) and got there with no problems.
Met up with Ian in the bogs and had a spot of lunch with him and Simon.

Re: London Boat Show 2007

But the boat that really caught my attention was stuck away amoungst the sailing boats and was this 7.55mtr (24/25footer) never heard of it before a Sumartra 755. Its a Polish built boat, maybe Andre knows the builder.
The carpentry is in solid oak and the finish of the whole boat was to a very high standard.
The inside is just fantastic, it only comes with diesel options Merc 1.7DTI & VP D3 or D4.

Re: London Boat Show 2007

I may be wrong but think this boat is either originating from Norway or Sweden, sure Andre will know.

Looks a lot like Windy and the old Saga Fjord.

Re: London Boat Show 2007

Was good to meet up with you Robbie, All be it was not expecting to bump into you in the Gents of all places
You keep looking at the Monterey's You will have to be brave and just go for it and buy 1 soon

Bumped into Nick on the Azimut stand.
Did not know it was Nick Just started talking to this chap about the Boat we had both been looking at and then as the conversation progressed we both admitted we had boats at LH.

Good to meet you Nick.

Found Andre in the Guinness bar as arranged.

Overall impression of the boat show was Poor. It was more like a trade show that a place to buy a boat.
Did like the look of the New Windy 34 and the Cranchi as well.
Think the Southampton Boat show is a far better event and has much more to offer.

Looked over the Pearl 50 which comes with 200,000 pounds of "Intelligent Features" included as standard. The best Extra was the "Electrically operated patio Door" approx value 12,685. Can not see what is wrong with just opening it by hand

Re: London Boat Show 2007

Yes I was up at the Cranchi stand too, it was a very impressive display, and I also got to see the round Britain event area under the Azimut boat area, and met up with Mike (Old Man). He showed me a video of an Apache racing at over 90mph.

Re: London Boat Show 2007

When we walked passed the RIB-X stand there was a crowd around one of their RIBs so being a nosey parker I pushed my way in and found they were looking at the seats of one particular RIB.
I got talking to the chap on the stand, and he told me that he had designed the seats and radar arch and that people walking along just stopped to stare - Why? - they looked so good. Far prettier than gelcoat sides.

Re: London Boat Show 2007

Spent the whole day with Wiesia at LBS and met up with Ian and Simon as arranged. Then bumped into Nick and his other half. Robbie I knew you were around but somehow we did not meet.
I did not take my camera so no pictures.

Robbie as for those seats on the rib then what looks pretty does not always be practical not to mention the price

as for the show well I had managed to do what I had set out to.

Steve you will be pleased to learn that I have now a new bag. The orange one just had to go due to age. I will shortly post photo of my purchase
