This Weekend

And what a trying weekend it was, well for me.

SATURDAY.. At LAST! get up at crack of dawn ignore rain..huh...prepare for detailed attack on Trailer.

In the week I had bought a space heater, a 3 * 6m easy up gazebo, a 3 * 6M tarpauling, 6 giant spring clips to hold the tarp down. paint , brushes the whole 9 yards

SATURDAY9A.M.
ON Site and find the exisiting Trailer tarp has puddles of water in it. resulting in trailer getting soaked underneath, as the old one comes off.

Never mind eh, still undeterred,so, Gazebo up , genny started, space heater and gas connected and on but whats this? It wont fire up! its duff!

SATURDAY11.A.M

Return from hire shop with a huuge spaceheater (to make up time).
Spending most of day under Gazebo drying out the trailer mahogony deck.

Alls going well now...but then...Hired Space heater safety circuit packs up!

End up with just about half of the deck in PVA primer aty 6 PM. When I had hoped to do all of decktoday..

SUNDAY 1.A.M YES one this morning!

Awakened by storm winds. Get up, get dressed...20 MINS JOURNEY TO YARD to yard to find Gazebo totaly wrecked and tarps in the trees, all over the place .So.. TIE THE LOT DOWN FOR THE NIGHT AND GO HOME

SUNDAY 2.30 A.M.

SUNDAY 9A.M. Pretend nothing is wrong still undeterred.
Remove Tarps, chuck Gazebo in metal recycling bin. Set up a makeshift Bivvy with whats left.

THEN.

Suddenly the Sun comes out.

Off comes the Bivvy

I bypass the safety circuit and use the spaceheater like a huuuge hairdryer and within an hour and half the whole lot is dried off.

By 2 P.M. the whole lots is primed, half of its done twice and all is put away under the Bivvy again.

Weather = 1 Steve = 1
And so on to next weekend!

Re: This Weekend

Steve,
Whilst you were having your trials, Andre, Lukasz, Nick and I had a nice dry coffee in the marina cafe chewing the fat and watching the rain OUTSIDE!!!
Still, I take my hat off to your perseverence.

Re: This Weekend

Steve I saw this in my magazine and immediately thought of you.

Just that if you had a big ball of string it would make a great kite flying over your trailer.

Re: This Weekend

Andre,

Trust you and Tony have a good run out today.

Unfortunatly Mrs H has me booked today and she won't let me out to play

I tried to convice her that tomorrow would be better for Xmas shopping, less crowds so hence quieter shops, but she came down with a firm NO and I'm afariad that she is the boss !!!!

Hopefully the rain will hold off until about 2 ish tomorrow so I may be able to get out for a few minutes

Have a good one

nick
