Re: Ring 25 Sportscruiser

A really top notch set of struts Graham. I'm going to need a set myself once I put this lot back together (struts direct - good web site).

I must stop pulling my boat apart. I've now got this lot in pieces and now some of it is in the garage to be re-made, also in the garage is the broken cabin door so I can use it as a pattern for the new one I still haven't made yet.

Is that all the projects now finished ?

So its just a case of waiting for the good weather to arrive and you can start to enjoy the boat then

Errr no!

Have following items in some form of progress :-
  1. Fitting some LED lights inside cabin (that's why part of interior trim is missing in photo above)
  2. Replacing stereo cover that got broken
  3. Extending the sleeping area with a removable 'in fill' piece
  4. Putting in a 10 cm bulk head across cabin entrance to prevent water entering
  5. Replacing the existing cable steering with hydraulic version
  6. Sourcing and implementing some fender eyes so they can be attached wear needed

Sourcerererers apprentice

OK what's the secret,

In the pics, there's no sign of fixings, when its fitted there are no fingerprints from hands smothered in super-glue.

How does the new speaker pod stay in place?

Re: Ring 25 Sportscruiser

If you want a marine fixing, you should try this stuff.

By all accounts it is great - a bit like velcro but tuffer and marine resilient.

They give an independant reveiw@

Got to be better than screw heads going rusty.

They are hinged at the top, and will have some latches at the base. Pondered for ages about how best to keep it all in place. Really wanted to use a round barrel lock with cylindrical key, but all became too difficult to get one where barrel was correct length to go through wood, and the needed cranked latch to ensure a good fit when its shut......

have gone for two of these :-

Great site www.protex-fasteners.com but minimum order value of 20 ?
